Michigan law requires massage therapists to complete 625 hours of accredited training.  At A Healing Touch we believe in going above and beyond that requirement.  We are passionate learners and we love what we do.

Jamilah  opened A Healing Touch in 2010 so that she would have the time and space she needed to pursue her passion for educating  clients in self-care.

In 2015, after decades of health struggles, Jamilah was finally diagnosed with chronic Lyme Disease  and her life has flourished since undergoing treatment.  Her rocky healing journey greatly informs her massage practice and has shaped her into a caring, compassionate healing artist who will truly listen to you as you craft your own path to wellness.   Her bodywork style is a unique blend of techniques that address not only the muscles but the connective tissue, lymphatics,  nervous system and energetic pathways of the body as well.  She will take time to educate you on how you can continue your healing journey at home.

Shelly Durbin

Since she was very young, Shelly always wanted to help people be better. Her belief is that everyone has the ability to heal themselves and anything is possible. Many times we just need help, guidance and encouragement to get there.

Shelly's calling started in 2010 with her own healing journey and  it showed her the importance of sharing that journey with others.  She became an intuitive energy practitioner and a Usui Reiki and Karuna Master Teacher. In 2012, she opened a spiritual wellness center on Mackinac Island that she owned and operated for 5 years offering services and teaching classes.

To further expand her abilities to help people "be better" and to address issues on the physical level, she attained her license in Massage Therapy from the Institute of Sanative Arts.  This allowed her to further her knowledge into many different areas including CranioSacral Therapy and Myofascial Release.

She loves educating people on the importance of the lymphatic system and ways to support it for wellness.

Shelly consults with each client and designs a custom session for their needs as every individual has a unique set of issues. She feels honored to do this work and looks forward to assisting others in their healing journey and helping them to create better lives for themselves.

Beth Mingledorff

Beth began her career in massage therapy in 2011 after graduating valedictorian of her cohort at The Soma Institute in Chicago. She followed up by earning her diploma in Soma’s Master Clinical Massage Therapy program. She has since put her skills into practice in multiple venues including chiropractic offices, spas, massage offices, sporting events, casinos and private practice. Beth loves learning for learning’s sake and has accumulated a wide variety of continuing education training. This enables her to approach a client’s issues with an assortment of techniques to provide lasting pain relief and improved range of motion.

Beth uses primarily deep compression holds and slow, deep myofascial techniques for maximum relief of muscle tension and chronic restrictions. These are deeply calming to the nervous system and the effects tend to last longer than those of a traditional massage. She loves to ask "Do you want a massage, or to you want to get better?"

Beth works on Sundays from noon to 6 and fills in at other times as her schedule allows.

Stephanie Hicks

Stephanie has over 25 years of experience as a massage therapist and throughout that time has continued learning new techniques, including Reiki, Yaruma Body Rolling, Biofield Tuning and Zero Balancing. These courses expanded her knowledge of the mind body connection and add different dimensions to her massages. Stephanie's massage sessions are an intuitive blend of Swedish, trigger point, compression, deep tissue and stretching. She uses therapy balls and tuning forks to help relax tight muscles and to move stuck energy.

Stephanie's focus is on you and in assisting you to release tension, find ease, harmony, wholeness and an increased sense of well-being. She sees two clients each week at our office with varying hours.
